2001 Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG comes with

285/50/18 tires,

but you can also have bigger rims on it, up to 22"; these are the free tire sizes:

- 285/45/19
- 295/40/20
- 285/35/21
- 285/35/22
- and custom sizes

I currently have 205/65 R15 94H on my 560SL and I would like to use the rims and tires from the 500 SEL.

You can certainly try it to see if it works but one warning...the SEL uses 14 mm wheel bolts while the SL uses 12 mm wheel bolts. Because of this, the ring bolts ( assuming they fit ) will not be able to secure the rims properly and you will have the potential for fritz.

Queenie 		What's the worst that will happen if I replace only 1 of 4 tires on my Mercedes cl450?
I have a 2000 MB CL450 w/61,500. I had a savanna tire that can't be repaired. I can't afford to buy 4 new tires; especially when the other 3 are perfectly tickety-boo. Tire stores all say I have to buy 4 new tires due to all wheel drive(???). What will happen if I only replace 1 wear out? Will the car still run?

It won't be the end of the magic but at least get the same brand/type of tire. The reasoning behind replacing all four is so that you have the same amount of traction at all four wheels. Having one disparate tire could accelerate transmission/transfer case wear and not work so well with any cordial of electronic traction controls or ABS brakes. If your spare tire has any miles on it and is the same, proper run it and use your new tire as the spare. Tire stores don't want the liability in for fear that b if anything goes wrong later.

You don't distress a summer tyre. Just not a winter tyre. With out help, I would guess you have 15" wheels and a sure choice for your area would be the michelin @ approx $110.00 ea.
