Does anyone know if the tires/rims 235X60R16 off a Mercedes 1993 500SEL will fit on a 1986 560SL? |

You can certainly try it to see if it works but one warn...the SEL uses 14 mm wheel bolts while the SL uses 12 mm wheel bolts. Because of this, the circle bolts ( assuming they fit ) will not be able to secure the rims properly and you will have the potential for play.

a big NAY on the gold rims fellow..... gold is one color that you can definitely have too much of. you can actually squeeze a 20x7.5 under your contract, but i definitely wouldn't recommend it. the smaller the wheel, the better the performance. for manner purposes, the larger the wheel, the better it looks. so, sacrifice a little of both to get what will m great. I would recommend 17x7 wheels, +38mm offset, with 215/45HR17 tires. as for color, it's all about what you like, not everyone else..... yeah, even gold. if you like it, do it.

Check up on out www.tirerack.com. You can match tires with various wheel sizes to fit your car, although for an '06 Galant the largest rim they sell is 19". If you want to find a larger wheel yourself, make inevitable you get the right bolt spacing (5-114 for the '06 Galant GTS), offset (changes with pivot width), and wheel width (8" is the largest you can go) so you won't spoil something. To maintain ride quality, you should invest in tires that have enough play to make up for the extra metal in the whirl location. Tire hardness ratings are written on the sidewall, and you can read user reviews of unequivocal tires on tirerack. If you're worried that the extra unsprung weight will decrease execution, a smaller wheel (maybe 17" or 18" at most) would be wagerer. In general, stuffing a tire size that is too large will hurt acceleration, cornering, braking, heckle quality, the accuracy of your speedometer/odometer, pretty much everything important related to driving. dont taking if your tires are larger in circumference then your original tires the spedo will show you are going slower then you really are and the cops might get you for that. get some bigger rims like you require but get a tire with the same circumference so you dont have spedo issues, unless you have it re calibrated then bigger tires will be clear. you might loose a few mpg with bigger tires too. good luck | |
